When I hit the "my computer" icon it takes about 60 seconds for the operation to complete and show its contents (drives). When I check system event viewer it says, "server did not register with DCOM within the required time period." The server designation is A1F4E-726-8CF1-11D1-BF92-006008ED811. I did a google on the sever designation and found it was the Windows Image Acquisition Device Manager Service. If I turn the service off, the "my computer" icon works great but I cannot work with pictures and images on my computer. I I leave the service on, I can work with images but the "my computer" takes forever to execute. I want to fix the problem and both the "my computer" icon execute quickly and be able to work with images. Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks2 people need an answerI do too
